The Circle of Giving is a way you can celebrate an area of RU that you are enthusiastic about, such as Highlander athletics, Arts Society, your own department or college, the students, scholarships or anything else that you feel is important. Your gift combined with others who share your interest can make a difference and come back to you full circle. For example, in 1986, the Physical Plant employees created the Physical Plant Scholarship for the dependents of their employees. This scholarship, renamed the Facilities Management Scholarship, has grown into one of the largest endowments on campus and 46 students have benefited from this effort. Following their lead, the Staff Senate established a scholarship to benefit their dependents. The first award was given in 2003.

2009-10 Parking Space Winner
Congratulations to Barbara Porter, Financial Aid Director, winner of the reserved parking space for 2009-2010! Barbara was selected in a random drawing from all faculty and staff donors who gave in the 2009 fiscal year. The Office of University Advancement works in conjunction with Parking Services to offer the prize each year to one lucky winner. To be eligible for the 2009 – 2010 drawing, make your gift to the University by June 30, 2010.

To celebrate RU’s centennial, the Office of University Advancement is putting together a cookbook featuring past presidents’ recipes, RU dining hall favorites and, most importantly, recipes from the RU staff and faculty family.
We are accepting recipes for appetizers and drinks, entrees, side dishes, breads and desserts. If we receive multiple recipes of the same item, we will randomly select a recipe to feature. We would like to include as many recipes as possible but cannot guarantee that all recipes will be used in the cookbook. We really need recipes for appetizers, side dishes and salads/soups. There is no limit on the number of recipes you can submit.
All recipes need to be submitted by Sunday, January 31, 2010 to circlgiv@radford.edu. Click here for the recipe submission form.
The cookbook will cost $15, and all proceeds, minus the cost of production, will go toward the Staff Senate Scholarship!
