Q: What is the Faculty/Staff Campaign?
A: This is a specialized program of the Annual Fund that gives each of us the opportunity to support the university by giving to our individual passions—our department, specific programs, the library, athletics, student scholarships or anything else that is important to you.  Take this opportunity to enhance an area of the campus that is meaningful to you.

Q: I already work here, why should I give?
A: While it may seem odd at first to consider a gift to your employer, we would like you to consider this as an investment in the future of RU and a vote of confidence for the work we collectively do on behalf of the students that attend.  Plus, we are keenly aware of areas that are in need of financial support that may not be obvious to the external community. 

Q: Why Should I Support RU?
A:  Because you benefit.  You support the university on the job, every day, in classrooms, labs, and offices throughout campus.  You have seen how generous donations can build a new lab, improve the space for student activities, wire a classroom or help with a conference.   You know better than most the difference between a “state-assisted” and a “state-supported” university.

Q: How much should I give?
A:  You determine the size of your gift.  It doesn’t take a large gift to make a big difference.  It’s your participation that counts!

Q: What does my gift support?
A: You have many choices, and we could not begin to list them all.   You have the opportunity to give to an area at RU that you are most passionate about - art society, athletics, music, scholarships, your department, research, equipment.  You decide what is important and where your donation will go. 

Q: I’ve heard of unrestricted gifts, what are those?
A: Some donors choose to make an unrestricted gift, those not restricted for a specific purpose and, therefore, directed where the need is greatest.  Unrestricted gifts also allow the University to take advantage of unexpected opportunities.

Q: How does my participation help RU?
A: Please remember that you are not only helping our students with their educational goals, but you are also helping the University attract external funding. Our support sends the message to alumni, parents, trustees, foundations, and community businesses that “we believe in the mission and goals of Radford University and are willing to donate to it.”

Q: How can I give?
A: There are many easy ways to make a gift to Radford University including:

Q: How does payroll deduction work?
A: Payroll deduction is one of the fastest, easiest and most convenient ways to make a gift. By completing the payroll deduction card, you specify the amount you would like automatically deducted from each paycheck, the start date, and where your support should be designated. You can have any amount deducted until further notice or until a specific total has been reached. The form can be acquired online or at the Foundation.

Q: Who will know about my gift?
A:  Participation is your choice. You will receive a receipt, but the amount of your gift will remain confidential to others. If you wish to keep your gift entirely anonymous, you can indicate so on the gift card.

Q: How is the parking spot winner determined?
A: Each faculty and staff department on campus that has 100% participation, will have their staff be entered into the drawing for the reserved parking spot.  The deadline for making a contribution is the end of June.  The winner will be announced in July.
